Abstract

Recently in January, 1963 a leaf spot disease new to India was observed by the writers on jowar(Sorghum vulgare pers} at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. The spots were mostly confined to the mid-rib regions. A fungus identified as Helminthosporium rostratum drechs. (= Bipolaris rostrata Shoemaker) was isolated from these lesions
