Abstract

One hundred grains of each of 20 varieties were kept in small glass vials and five pairs of S. oryzae adults were released into them and allowed to oviposit for one week. Following evaluation of percentage grain infestation, grain weight loss, grain hardness, grain weight, grain moisture content and number of weevils emerged, it appeared that none of the varieties were immune to attack, but SPV221, SPV107, CSH6, CS3541, SPV102, SPV115, HD8 and 168 were least susceptible
