Abstract

Singh and Faroda (1964), while working at the College farm, observed that application of Chlorophenoxy herbicides at the rate of 1.0 to 1.5 kg,'ha controlled many weeds but weeds like Trianthema portulacustrum remained mostly uncontrnlled. It was thought that hand weeding which is a local common practice should be included as one of the treatments and its effects studied for arriving at proper recommendations. In persuance of these observations a field trial comprising of various Chlorophenoxy herbicides, old and new, at varying rates and tlme of applications along with hand weeding treatment war planned out.
