Abstract

The Poa pratensis line Belturf, a single plant selection from an old management experiment, is highly apomictic, vigorous and semiprostrate and produces rhizomes and tillers prolifically to give a dense turf. Sod of Belturf is strong and superior to that of other varieties in root development after transplanting. Belturf is resistant to Puccinia graminis, P. poae-nemoralis, Cochliobolus sativus and Ustilago striiformis and moderately resistant to Helminthosporium
