Abstract

Field experiment was conducted on integrated management shoot fly from 2000 to 2004 at University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. Among different treatments early sowing (second week of June) with high seed rate @ 10kg/ha and thinning dead heart plants at 28 days after emergence was found superior based on four years data by checking the infestation of shoot fly (24.3%DH) and giving maximum yield (19.8 q/ha).It has also recorded maximum net returns of Rs. 7835 per hectare with highest benefit cost ratio of 2.30:1. This was closely followed by treatment sowing seeds treated with Endosulfan (0.07% and calcium chloride (2%) which has recorded 22.9%deadheart, 17.9q/ha grain yield with net returns of Rs.6687/ha and BC ratio of 2.01:1.
