Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during summer season under irrigated condition at Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to assess the sweet sorghum genotypes for morpho-physiological and biophysical characters. Higher plant height, leaf area index and total dry matter accumulation was recorded in SSV-74, SSV- 6928, SSV-53 and SSV-12611. The genotypes SSV-74 and SSV-53 possessed higher LAD during post anthesis period. Significantly higher grain yield was recorded in SSV-74, SSV-7073, SS-53 and SSV-2525. Alcohol yield was highest in Rio, SSV-74 and SSV-7073. The photosynthetic rate had positive correlation with TDM at harvest. The photosynthesis and transpiration had positive association while Photosynthesis and stomatal resistance had negative association
