Abstract

Twenty-nine naturally occurring weeds in pigeon pea farms in Andhra Pradesh, India were studied for the presence of pigeonpea sterility mosaic virus. Of the 29 species, only 2 of 12 plants of Chrozophora rottleri tested positive for the virus. Results indicate that only cultivated and wild species of pigeon peas may serve as potential hosts of the virus.
