Abstract
The phenotypic coefficient of variation, heritability and genetic advance for resistance to late leaf spot (Phaeoisariopsis personata [Mycosphaerella berkeleyi]), rust (Puccinia arachidis) and stem necrosis were studied in 30 groundnut accessions grown in Chintamani, Karnataka, India, during the kharif of 2001-03. The values of the aforementioned parameters were high for all foliar diseases. ICGV-99057, ICGV-00228 and ICGV-99068 were resistant or moderately resistant to late leaf spot. ICGV-00228, ICGV-99022, ICGV-00169, ICGV-99025, ICGV-00130 and 99057 were resistant or moderately resistant to rust. ICGV-99057, ICGV-00169 and ICGV-99068 were resistant or moderately resistant to stem necrosis disease. ICGV-99057 and ICGV-00169 were characterized by multiple resistance, and high shelling percent and oil content
