Abstract

Cultivars or lines selected from 6000 accessions of Arachis hypogaea that were screened in the field during a natural epidemic in the rainy season of 1977 were further tested during the 1977-78 dry season. The land races NCAc17090 and EC76446 (292) were resistant to Puccinia arachidis and five others were moderately so. Greenhouse tests on four cultivars or lines (which differed in field resistance) at three developmental stages indicated that resistance increased as the plants aged
