Abstract
The performance of 20 sorghum cultivars was evaluated in a field experiment conducted in Karnataka, India during the winter of 2000-01. Cultivars SPV 1413, SPV 1411 and Mouli recorded the highest grain yield (1.78 t/ha), stover yield (2.48 t/ha) and grain mass (32.90 g/plant), respectively. Cultivar SPV 1359 recorded the highest 1000-grain weight (29.77 g), and panicle length (17.6 cm) and diameter (15 cm). Grain yield was strongly correlated with plant height, stover yield, grain weight, panicle mass, 1000-grain mass, and panicle diameter and length.
