Abstract

Field efficacy of nine insecticides viz. chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 0.4 ml l-1, indoxacarb 15.8 EC @ 0.5 ml l-1, fipronil 5% SC @ 2.0 ml l-1, flubendiamide 480 SC @ 0.15 ml l-1, bifenthrin 10 EC @ 1.0 ml l-1, azadirachtin 10000 ppm @ 1.0 ml l-1, HaNPV 0.43% AS @ 1.0 ml l-1, novaluron 10 EC @ 1.0 ml l-1 and spinosad 2.5 SC @ 0.3 ml l-1were evaluated against gram pod borer. All the treatments were applied twice: the first at 50% flowering stage and second was repeated after 15 days. The results revealed that the minimum overall larval population (1.32 larvae/ plant), pod (1.3%) and grain (1.0%) damage, and higher yield (10.67 q/ ha) was recorded in the plots treated with indoxacarb 15.8 EC @ 0.5 ml/liter of water and was followed by flubendiamide 480 SC @ 0.15 ml/liter of water with 1.68 larvae / plant, 2.0 and 1.6% pod and grain damage, and 10.50 quintal of grain yield / hectare.
