Abstract

In Himachal Pradesh, cultivation of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum 1.) is limited to the high-altitude, dry temperate regions. The ultimate goal of any breeding programme is to select a genotype from large germplasm that not only gives good yield but also shows stable performance in the different environ~ ments. Hence an attempt was made on the basis of adaptability analysis to generate information on adaptability parameters of some indigenous and exotic genotypes of proso millct maintained at the station, for grain yield and other contributing traits.
