Information on genetic variance and combining ability is derived from data on 5 characters in 60 pigeon pea [Cajanus cajan] hybrids involving 3 genetic male sterile lines and, respectively, 11 and 9 medium and short duration pollinators. Fifty hybrids significantly exceeded their parents for harvest index
