Abstract
India is the largest producer of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), accounting for about 67% of global production (GOI 2011). Out of 10.94 mt chickpea produced world over from 11.99 m ha, India produces 7.48 mt from 8.21 m ha (FAO 2012).
