Abstract
A field experiment was conducted to study the integrated agro-techniques on pod borer, diseases and weed dynamics in pigeonpea ecosystem during kharif 2013 at the Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. Among the integrated agrotechniques, the combined application of INM FYM at 5 t ha-1+Rhizobium & PSB at 500 g ha-1 each for seed treatment+RDF (25:50:25:20:15 kg N:P2O5:K2O:S and ZnSO4 ha-1), IWM (Pendimethalin at 0.75 kg a.i ha-1 on 3 days after sowing (DAS)+Imazethapyr at 100 g a. i. ha-1 on 10-15 DAS+Inter cultivation (IC) at 30, 50 DAS)+RDF and IPM (Indoxacarb 14.5% SC at the time of flowering at 0.5 ml lit-1+Spinosad at 0.2 ml lit-1 on 15 days after first spray+5% NSKE)+RDF recorded significantly lower pod and seed damage due to pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) (4.23 and 3.42%, respectively). Whereas, higher pod and seed damage due to pod borer, H. armigera (23.34 and 21.23%, respectively) was recorded with farmer's practice. Among the integrated agrotechniques, significantly lower sterility mosaic incidence (2.19%) was recorded with INM+IWM+IPM practices, which was on par with only IPM (2.08%), IWM+IPM (3.12%) and INM+IPM (3.12%). Whereas, significantly higher sterility mosaic incidence (4.72%) was recorded with farmer's practice. The application of INM+IWM+IPM practices were found effective in reducing weed density in the later stages (120 DAS and at harvest) of crop growth as compared to other treatments. Similarly lower total weed dry weight were also recorded in the treatment receiving combined application of INM, IWM and IPM practices as compared to farmer's practices.
