Abstract

Potted seedlings of Ammi majus L. were sprayed with different concentrations of 2, 4-D (80% N a—salt) and D a lapon (80% Na—salt) ranging from 100 to 3000 ppm. 100 ppm of 2, 4-D an d D a lap on up to 3000 ppm were tolerated by the crop seedlings without any Harm. A combination spray of 2, 4-D and Dalapon, 80 + 3000 ppm respectively, at the pre-flowering stage in Ammi in the field controlled Amaranthus viridis L., Argemone maxcana L, and Dicanthium annulatum (Foressk.) Stapf effectively. Cyperus roiundus L. and Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. besides having been controlled effectively sprouted sparsely. Increase in the yield of Ammi seeds over control was observed.
