Abstract

Soybean has been Ohio's major cash crop since 1987. Phyophthorn rot has been the most prevalent disease affecting production of soybean in Ohio since 1955. Resistant cultivars developed in other states and at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The Ohio State University (OARDCOSU), have provided good control until infrequent races became prevalent and resulted in disease on formerly resistant cultivars. A more stable(race nonspecific), genetic control was desired
