Abstract
One of the major constraints facing the development of livestock industry in sub-Saharan Africa is the disease, African trypanosomiasis. This is a disease complex which attacks both man and his domestick livestock Trypanosomiasis of cattle for example severely limits cattle production in Africa. It is well worth remebering that cattle play diverse economic and social roles in the economics of many African countries. They produce milk and meat supply draught power and animal manure apart from the combined detriment to food production in the affected areas is therefore considerable
