Abstract
This paper synthesizes information presented at the two roundtable discussions. The current situation of women in agricultural policy-making positions is discussed first, based on the papers presented. The second section discusses the constraints that woman face in entering and succeeding in agricultural careers. Finally, the strategies and recommendations that resulted from the discussions are presented. All of the quotations and references, unless otherwise cited,are taken from the roundtable papers or discussions. held in Abidjan, Cote d' Ivoire and Nairobi, Kenya in 1990
