Abstract
Whereas in the otha two bookkts in this series our interest
lay in determining the nature of a single parameter, we now turn
to ways of comparing two or more parameters indirectly by
comparing the respective parameter estimates.
We know that the estimator of a parameter does not necessarily
assume the true oarameter value. So. if the means we obtain from
two different samples are unequal, say v,.>j,., then it does not
follow that the population mcans are also unequal. The population
means could be identical with the differena In sample means
being entirely due to sampling errors.
