Abstract
The ojectives of the Seminar were to provide a forum for exchange of experience in formulating and implementing agricultural credit and policy programmes for meeting the needs of the small farmers to explore new ways of achieving closer collaboration between credit programmes and rural development programmes marketing input supply processing and price support operations. The agricultural credit policies of the countries represented were reviwed Pre-conditions for enabling credit institutions to serve the small farmers were enumerated and analysed. A long-term strategy in agricultural credit and greater support both financial and technical, from government and central banks to Agricultural credit institutions were considered essential. Better linkage between credit policy and price support operations and the development of institutional infrastructure was considered a necessary precondition
