Abstract

In this study, the merits and shortcomings of recent and proposed changes in policy are discussed within an economic framework.The implications of transferable water entitlements and of salinity problems for developments in irrigation in the Murray-Darling Basin are examined, and a need for integration of policies on water rights and salinity is identified
