Abstract
A workshop sponsored by the UN Administrative Committee on Coordination/Sub-Committee on Nutrition (ACC/SCN) and the Intetnational Agricultural Research Centers(IARCs) was organized by the International Food POlicy Research Institute(IFPRI) and the ACC/SCN and held at the International Livestock Center for Africa(ILCA) February 29-Mar 2, 1984 to discuss methods currently used by the IARCs for incorporating nutritional goals into agricultural research and to explore ways of further integrating nuritional nutrition concerns into the planning and execution of agricultural research. Workshop participants included economists, other social scientists, nutritionists, and agricultural scientists from 12 of the 13 centers supported by the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research(CGIAR) and from outside it. The focus of the workshop was on current and prospective methods for strengthening the impact of agricultural research on nutrition rather than an assessment of its actual impact. This report presents a brief summary of workshop discussions and recomendations. Paper prepared for the workshop will be published by IFPRI and ACC/SCN
