Abstract

Sorghum plants with the bloomless genotype bmbm have, at least under some conditions, less than the normal amount of epicuticular wax. this fact explains their proven superiority in digestibility and enhanced rate of photosynthesis. These advantages, together with the greater resiteance of bloomless plants to greenbugs, have stimulated breeders interest in this character.
