Abstract
Information on heterosis is derived from data on 8 characters including yield in the following pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) material grown at Hisar during the kharif season: the parents (varieties EE76 and UPAS120, and 10 lines); F1 hybrids from crosses of EE76 and UPAS20 with each of the 10 lines; and three-way crosses obtained by crossing the EE76 X UPAS120 hybrid as the male parent with each of the same 10 lines. Highest yield was obtained from the cross Pant A2 X EE76 (208.7 g/plant). The mean yield (pooled) of the single crosses was higher than that of the three-way crosses (84.4 and 77.2 g/plant, respectively)
