Abstract

Recent research has shown the value of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizae(VAM) to crop production. VAM fungi, occurring naturally in the roots of most crops and pastures, greatly increase efficiency of extraction of nutrients like phosphorus and zinc from soil and fertilizers. They can also help plant tolerate drought stress and attack by pathogens
