Abstract
The grain losses associated with harvesting, handling, and storing of food grains in developing countries are very serious problems. It is estimated that more than 40 percent of all food grains harvested is lost before consumption in some parts of the world, especially in warm, humid areas (Ives, 1963; Hall, 1970). These losses are due primarily to the lack of adequate facilities and improper ways of handling, drying and storing food grains.
