Abstract

The changes in the thinking of the international research community to which ICARDA belongs are of more concern to the center. Thesechanges are set out in TAC's recent studies, including those on the expansion of CGIAR system, on the ecoregional approach, and on global, regional and centre-specific research priorities. In this document, part 1 provides an overview on ICARDA's mandate region, the ecoregional dimension, impact onICARDA's strategy, mandate and mission, priorities and resources. Part 2 provides a detailed discussion on workplans: Conservation and management of natural resources; germplasm enhancement and breeding; production systems development and management; socio-economic, public policy and publicmanagement research; institution building; research support; administration and finance and priorities and resources. Part 3 includes financial tables
