Abstract
Acomputer model which simulates the water balance and plant growth across three-dimensional catchments is presented. The model is a distributed parameter, dynamic eco-hydrological model called Topog_IRM. By combining physical and physiological approaches, it is well suited to investigations intolandscape response to changes in the physical and biological character of the system. Model structure and algorithms are described, including model assumptions and constraints. Data requirements are specified, including options for different soil models and the generation of climate data.
