Abstract

These Proceedings report a collaborative research program conducted by scientists from the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (AARD)and the Queensland Development of Primary Industries (QDPI) aimed at understanding the major constraints to peanut production. Initially, studies to identify the major constraints to peanut yield in a number of production systems were conducted. These studies were reported in the first paper.Subsequent to these constraint identification studies, specific research program were implemented to get over these constraints. The remaining papers report the research findings on various aspects (Genetic and Cultural control of diseases; Influence of environmental factors; Influence of plantpopulation on growth and yield; optimal irrigation strategies; micronutrient deficiencies;lime requirements; and drought tolerance) and their implications for increased peanut production in Indonesia
