Abstract
The verification of the Linear Programming model was conducted by determining thenet recharge rate in the project area during September, October and November 1988. The monthly net recharge rates were used as input to a 'forward prediction' model for the project area. Predicted piezometer levels at the end of each month were compared with observed piezometer levels along threetransects. In general, there was a good agreement between observed and predicted piezometer levels. But, agreement between observed and predicted heads was not satisfactory along the border of the project area. The sensitivity analysis indicates that the recharges estimated by the LP model weresensitive to the transmissivity and storage coefficient values used. The sensitivity was high in elements which had small or negligible net recharge values. Elements with higher sensitivity for transmissivity also had higher sensitivity for storage coefficient
