Abstract
Information on combining ability is derived from data on 6 quantitative characters in the parents and hybrids from a 9 line X 3 tester cross of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) grown during summer of 1989-90 at Raichur, India. Additive gene effects were noted for the characters pod number, pod weight and primary branching. The best combiners for shelling output were lines DORG1810 and RSHY13, and the best for pods/plant was line RSHY4; these 3 lines are erect bunch types
