Abstract
From a total of 45 crosses from a 15 X 3 line X tester series, 20 crosses exhibited significant heterosis over the better parent for yield. The cross T3 X NEC240 showed highest heterosis over the mean parental value (188.9%) and better parent (168.0%) with a mean yield of 18.4 g per plant. The five crosses with the highest values for heterosis for yield/plant also showed significant positive heterosis for pod number/plant and number of primary branches/plant.
