Abstract
The feerasannidhi award has been instituted by an endowment from Dr. M. J. Thirumalachar, Or. (Mrs.) Kasturi Thirumalachar and Or. M. J. Narasimhan (Jr.), to the Indian Phytopathological Society with the object of developing researches in mycology and Plant Pathology in their widest sense as well as their application for the progress of Indian Agriculture. The older generation will still recall Prof. M . .I. L\'arasimhan (Sr.) In whose memory in 1972, an Academic Merit Contest was instituted also in the Indian Phytopathological Society, as a constant figure in all Annual Indian Science Congresss Meeting...
