Abstract

Efficacy of three fungicides viz; carbendazim, carboxin+thiram, propineb and kasugamycin antibiotic, respectively was evaluated against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris under in vitro and in vivo conditions. Seven concentrations i.e. 1, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 ppm each of these test chemicals were tested in vitro. All the test chemicals inhibited the mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris. Fungitoxicity of carbendazim was significantly superior compared to carboxin+thiram, propineb and kasugamycin at the tested concentrations. The Ec50 further confirmed the superiority of carbendazim (Ec50=81.28 µg ml-1) over carboxin+thiram (Ec50=109.6 µg ml-1), propineb (Ec50=131.8 µg ml-1) and kasugamycin (Ec50=154.9 µg ml-1). Disease incidence was minimum in carbendazim seed treatment followed by carboxin+thiram, propineb and kasugamycin, respectively. All the fungicides were at par in reducing the disease severity through seed treatment over kasugamycin
