Abstract

The estimates of gca effects revealed that among the five line, the line MS 104A showed positively significant gca effect for grain yield per plant along with six yield components. Among the testers, AKSV 13 R was the best tester with significant gca effects for grain yield along with six yield components. Other promising testers showing desirable significant gca effects for grain yield and some of the yield components were M 35-1, Ringni, SPV-504, Parbhani Moti and CSV-216 R. Among the hybrids, the crosses showing high mean performance for grain yield per plant and desirable and significant sca effects for grain yield per plant along with some of the yield component traits were MS 104 A × M 35-1, MS 104 A × SPV 504, MS 104 A × Parbhani Moti, AKMS 47A × M35-1, AKMS 69 A × Ringni, MS-104A × Ringni, AKMS-47A × SPV 504, AKMS-45A × CSV 216 R, AKMS 69 A × AKSV 13 R and AKMS 47 A × CSV 216 R
