Abstract
45 pigeonpea germplasm accessions received from ICRISAT were studied for genetic variability and correlation among yield and its ttributes under rainfed condition. Analysis of variancerevealing the existence of considerable variability in the material studied.GCV for number of pod clusters per plant recorded high which shows considerable scope for yield improvement in the present pigeonpea gene pool. Direct selection for number of pods per plant, number of pod clusters per plant and pod length may be advantageous for selecting the high yielding genotypes in pigeonpea from the available germplasm accessions. Overall observations on variability, correlation coefficient, path coefficients and cluster analysis for seed yield and its attributes in pigeonpea germplasm accessions indicated presence of ample variability for most of the traits
