Abstract
Sixty-six Cicer arietinum genotypes were grown in 9 microenvironments during the period 1982-85 and data were recorded for 9 yield-related characters. Information on yield correlations and stability was determined. Variations due to genotypes, environments and G × E interactions were highly significant for all traits. For each trait between 35 and 55 genotypes out of the total were stable. Grain yield/plant had significant, positive correlations with primary branches and pods/plant and its stability was dependent upon the stability of these 2 traits. Grain yield ranged from 11.53 to 6.56 g/plant, with genotype H77-108 giving the highest value. Number of secondary branches/plant and harvest index were correlated with yield, but their stability was independent of yield
