Abstract
This is final report of the second phase of the Private Sector Agricultural Research Project. The results of the first phase are reported in Pray (1985). The purpose of the second phase of the project was to: (1) find out how
important private sector research and technology transfer is in the Third World; (2) identify important policies that constrain or induce companies to invest in R&D; (3) survey AID and International Agricultural Research Center's policies which influence private agricultural research; and (4) in preparation for phase three of this project, identify regions and commodities in which it may be possible to quantify the impact of private research and
technology transfer and quantify the effect of policies which constrain or induce research...
