Abstract
According to certain botanists, the angiosperm embryo sac is interpreted as a sui generis formation or is compared to, and supposed to be derived from haploid female structures such as those now presented by Fetus, Filicinae, Pinaceae, Tarsus, or Gnebon. Each point of view is discussed with biologic, cytologic, genetic, and taxonomic arguments.
