Abstract
D² and canonical analysis allowed 40 early maturing genotypes of C. cajan to be grouped into 3 clusters. Genetic diversity was independent of geographic origin. High variability for earliness, seed yield and protein content was obtained in crosses involving genotypes from distant clusters
