Abstract
Despite a growing literature on how to conduct agronomic and economic evaluations of on-farm trials with developing country farmers, virtually nothing has been written concerning sociocultural variables that can influence farmers' behavior. This article discusses the cultural communication gap that often exists between agricultural scientists and farmers.
