Abstract

In a field experiment on red sandy loam soil during the rainy season in 1991, groundnuts cv. VRI 2 was supplied with 12.5 t FYM/ha, seed and soil inoculated with Rhizobium, Azospirillum or Phosphobacterium, or supplied with FYM with seed and soil inoculations with 2 or all 3 inoculants. FYM with seed and soil inoculations with all the inoculants gave a pod yield of 2195 kg/ha, which was not significantly different from the other FYM treatments with or without inoculation. Pod yields with seed and soil inoculations were about 100-200 kg/ha lower than with FYM.
