Abstract
More emphasis is placed on the newer diseases recorded, or those that have become more prominent recently. These (briefly described) include crown rot (Aspergillus niger), leaf spots (Cercospora arachidicola [Mycosphaerella arachidis], C. personata [M. berkeleyi], Phyllosticta sp. and Ascochyta sp.), grey mould (Botrytis cinerea), sclerotium rot (Sclerotium [Corticium] rolfsii), stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum), pod rot (Rhizoctonia solani), groundnut rosette virus and B deficiency
