Abstract
Information on genetic variance governing the inheritance of plant height is derived from studies on 6 generations (P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1 and BC2) of 6 crosses at 2 growth stages. In general, genes with a positive effect on plant height showed dominance over those with negative effects. The preponderance of dominance effects with duplicate epistasis suggested that reciprocal recurrent selection would improve plant height
