Abstract
Groundnut cv. TMV 2 was grown during 1979 and 1980 on an alfisol containing 0.35 p.p.m. extractable Zn and 114, 16.2 and 231.5 kg N, P2O5 and K2O/ha, resp. Gypsum alone or with ZnSO4 was applied in 10 treatments. Highest pod yields (2.85 t/ha in 1979, 3.38 t/ha in 1980) were obtained by application of 1000 kg gypsum/ha at earthing up either with or without 25 kg ZnSO4 applied at sowing. Pod yields with the 1000 kg/ha rate of gypsum were significantly higher than with the 500 kg rate. The highest economic return was given by ZnSO4 used alone
