Abstract

Information on combining ability and genetic variance is derived from data on 6 yield components in 9 lines and their F1 hybrids grown at Delhi during kharif 1979-80 and at Kalyana during rabi 1980-81. Syn C (8b) and CM110 were good general combiners for grain yield. CM201 X Cuba 43 and Eto 81 X Syn C (8b) were good specific combiners for grain yield, ear length and grains/row.
