Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at the College of Agriculture, Dharwad for two rabi seasons to know the effect of dates of sowing and irrigation levels on biometric growth parameters of chickpea genotypes. The chickpea ICCV-2 recorded significantly higher total dry matter production at 30 [1.86 g/plant], 60 DAS [4.10 g/plant] and at harvest [10.81 g/plant] with irrigation at 0.8 IW/CPE ratio which resulted in significantly higher seed yield [1618 kg/ha]. Further, the chickpea sowing on II fortnight of October recorded significantly higher total dry matter production of 1.68, 3.77 and 9.99 g/plant at 30, 60 DAS and at harvest respectively and resulted in significantly higher seed yield [1803 kg/ha]. The higher total dry matter production and seed yield was due to higher AGR, RGR, CGR, LAD and LAI
