Abstract
Studies in Andhra Pradesh, India on the effect of Rhizobium inoculation and graded levels of phosphorus application on nodulation in groundnut indicated that Rhizobium inoculation significantly increased the nodule number on the top root at all stages of crop growth, except on 60th day. Phosphorus application also increased the nodule number as well as weight, especially at the advanced stages of crop growth, whereas Rhizobium inoculation did not influence the weight of nodules in an appreciable manner. Rhizobium inoculation coupled with phosphorus application up to 90 kg P2O5 per hectare increased the nitrogen content of the nodules.
