Abstract

The range of variation for all quantitative characters studied in 35 OG hybrids was high except for maturity. Estimates of components of variation indicated that the height of the main axis and the number of mature pods per plant were influenced by the error variance, whereas other characters were influenced by the environment. Broad-sense heritability estimates and genetic gain were high for yield/plant, indicating substantial additive gene effects
